House Rules

Who doesn't love a good debate? But to create a fair playground for such it is also fair to set up some simple house rules so it doesn't get totally out of hand.

🐴 House Rules for Horzing Around
Horzing Around is about thinking, talking, and sometimes laughing at the realities of equestrian sport — but always with respect.

Here are a few simple rules for keeping the conversation open yet fair:

💬 1. Keep the tone direct but friendly
You’re welcome to have opinions — that’s the whole point — but write as if you were standing in the stable talking to someone you genuinely like.

🚫 2. No name-dropping
We discuss ideas, behaviours, and structures, not people by name. Exceptions apply to public figures in a journalistic context, but no mudslinging.

🧭 3. Respect before being right
You don’t have to agree with me or anyone else here, but if you can’t express your opinion without stepping on someone’s toes, take a lap around the stable first.

🐎 4. No gossip
Equestrian sport already has enough of that. Here, I want us to focus on discussing systems, not the rumour mill in the parking lot.

🌱 5. Contribute — don’t tear down
The comments section should be a space where we aim to understand, not win. Please share your experiences, but keep the tone factual and curious.

PS: Discussions about religion or political opinions are not welcome here, regardless of the content of the articles.
