🖊️ When Two Becomes One...
Doesn't that sound just like an old tune by the Spice girls?
The first of the two was a good old fashioned blog about horses, eventing and such.
At times that particular blog led me to be seriously trolled and dragged through the mud on social media. Making me completely loose faith in both myself as a person, as a writer, and myself, as a human being with the right to even have an opinion.
It’s been taking years to dare to speak out my mind again!
During the pandemic I started to fiddle around with a podcast and last year I launched a horsey one. Not long after that I also turned the blog into a pod cast too and for months I ran these two side by side, just to start focusing on the second one while also working on a reboot of the first one.
Till suddenly one day I wasn’t doing either.
Working my inner Curious George.
It was just after CHIO Aachen, Germany. While I was there I had recorded tons of material and interviews with exciting maybe NOT so famous equestrians. People that are on top of the game as in being part of the top shows and championships. But for one reason or another have not gained enough fame so people talk about them.
I was thrilled to leave Aachen with all this material. It was so exciting I had pulled off my first equestrian event as a podcaster and interviewer instead of being there as a working photographer and writing journalist. You know the kind that rely on results, and press conferences more than anything for a rider’s quote.
This time around it was all about me and what I had accomplished working my inner Curious George.
And then..
And then Covid struck. I did not even know it was even still a problem when heading down to Aachen. Turns out it was not only a problem but also a bit of a hot spot in Aachen. With Covid I also lost my voice.
Still I am not sure if it was the Covid itself or if there was something at my day job. I had a colleague that was struggling with her voice for weeks.
Now it was my turn.
Whatever I did and how hard I tried, I did not get my podcasting voice to work. One sentence in I started to cough, and get problems in speaking.
Weeks went by, my brilliant interviews got old and useless and one day months had gone by. Both podcasts were down and out, so I had no other choice than to get back to writing, so hello there. Glad you could make it!
