R.I.P. Valegro

Every piaffe, every passage, every relaxed frame told a story of trust, talent and a bond between horse and rider that many can only dream of.

Valegro wasn’t just a champion. He was a symbol, the proof that dressage could combine athleticism with soul, precision with poetry.

But now that he’s gone, it’s impossible to celebrate his greatness without also remembering the shadow that followed him.

The scandal that rocked the sport when Charlotte Dujardin decided to whip that other horse, eventually leading up to a pretty long suspension.

That event cracked more than just headlines.

It cracked faith.

It made people question, how much of what we saw was beauty, and how much was façade?

That said, Valegro deserves to be remembered for grace, for brilliance, and for everything he was. R.I.P. Valegro.
