Why Horzing Around?
Horzing Around grew out of earlier projects that drifted off course, but the heart behind them never changed: I still care deeply about horses and about the sport we’ve built around them… even if I barely recognise it anymore.
Because most of the time I feel like that’s exactly what I’m doing, horsing around and trying to make sense of a sport that’s become both incredibly confusing and frustrating.
These days so much feels wrapped in PR, image, and “Olympic dreams,” and lost the soul. And let’s be honest, the media hasn’t helped. Because somewhere along the way, the tough conversations got replaced by cozy silence.
This site is my attempt to collect all the thoughts, questions, eye-rolls, and genuine worries that never seem to fit into the polished version of equestrian sport we’re handed these days.
Somewhere in between the glossy PR, the Olympic hype, and the media’s “nothing to see here” attitude the soul of the sport got lost, while tough conversations were replaced with cozy silence.
So this is my way of taking that conversation back. This is a place for people who love horses but are tired of the nonsense, the politics, the scandals, and the shiny surface that never tells the full story.
Here you’ll find honesty, curiosity, the occasional rant, and hopefully even a laugh or two. Which means I welcome and encourage people to become active in the comment section and other places of the site.
Just bring your thoughts, your humor, and your love for the horses.
